We are urging residents to remain vigilant following reports of suspected rogue traders operating locally.

Individuals have been reported knocking on doors and offering home improvement or maintenance services, including roofing, driveway repairs, gutter cleaning, tree work and other property-related work. Rogue traders can use high-pressure sales tactics, claim work is urgently needed, or demand payment upfront.

Please remember that not everyone who knocks on your door is a rogue trader. However, we encourage residents to be cautious of unsolicited offers of work and to check a trader's credentials before agreeing to any services.

Protect Yourself

✅ Be cautious of anyone cold-calling at your door offering services.
✅ Never agree to work on the spot.
✅ Obtain quotes from reputable, established companies.
✅ Do not pay upfront for work.
✅ Ask for identification and check credentials.
✅ Discuss any proposed work with family, friends or neighbours before making a decision.

Report Suspicious Activity

If you have been approached by suspected rogue traders or have seen suspicious individuals knocking on doors in your area, please report this via 101 or online via our website.
